About


Image Processing is the branch of computer science that captures an image in its digital form, perform some operations to produce an enhanced image, or to extract information out of it. It has a wide variety of applications in machine/robot vision, pattern recognition, video processing and many more. Image processing techniques are also used in combination with machine learning and robotics to develop autonomous driving systems.

Course Objectives


  • Understand and learn in depth about digital images
  • Learn the concepts of data mining, pattern recognition, computer graphics and computer vision
  • Gain practical experience on various image processing and data compression algorithms
  • Understand the concepts of Artificial Neural Networks and other machine learning algorithms

Technical Stack


  • All labs are being conducted in Python. One of the core motives of the institution is to promote open-source software. All programming is done using open-source stack which is inclusive of Numpy, Scipy, Scikit, Matplotlib, OpenCV. All the fundamental and advanced image processing techniques are being covered using this stack. Our deep learning efforts are primarily centred around tensorflow and theano.
